I received an e-mail today about the neatest thing - funding free mammograms by just a click a day. My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years back and is now a breast cancer survivor, so it is very important to me to be preventative with this type of cancer. Take Me Out To The Ballgame...

This past weekend my dad, step mom and brother came for a visit. It was a nice relaxing fun weekend with them. We slept late, drove around in my new car, had lunch out, went to church, and all the other fun weekend things. We also decided to go to the Mississippi Braves baseball game Saturday night. It was a fun night at the ball park. I especially enjoyed eating a hot dog and nachos at the game. Okay I know that is way not healthy, but it was a must to get the full experience! My dad even got peanuts, but Brad wouldn't buy me cracker jacks. Then we all sang ...

Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out with the crowd.

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks. I don't care if I ever get back.

I also was thrilled to have my dad and step mom come visit my classroom on Monday. I think they were amazed at my profoundly deaf students talking and singing. Especially the sweet 2 yr. old who sang "Jesus Loves Me." As I've said before all of you should come visit. I promise you would be amazed and blessed, too.

My Magnolia Family

This weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to host a shower with of my sweet friends from work, Bree, for another sweet friend of ours - Amy. Bree and I had fun putting everything together and spending some time with our friends from work outside of work. The people I work with have been more than just co-workers, but a family to me since I started working five years ago. When I moved here right out of college alone, all I had were about two acquaintances and the people I worked with at Magnolia. They instantly embraced me and became my Jackson family. I have moms and sisters galore from there who have helped me grow into the woman and teacher I am today. Even those who don't still work there are still so much a part of the Magnolia clan. So it was also nice to see several people who worked at Magnolia in the past there, too. We had a wonderful morning spending time together while showering Amy with gifts. Thanks Magnolia for being my Jackson family. Amy, we are so excited for you. You are a wonderful speech pathologist, mom, co-worker, and most of all friend. We can't wait to meet baby Matthew.

Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend with Brad's family. It was good to see all of them. We had a great time!

A night with the girls

Last night I went out to eat with my friends from work to celebrate Jordan's birthday. We went to Bonefish. We had a really good time. I really enjoy working with these girls. It makes working a whole lot more fun! Happy Birthday Jordan!!

My Weekend Getaway

So this past weekend I met up with two of my high school friends - Stacey and Brooke - in Birmingham for a girls weekend away. We all live in different places and never all three get together so we decided to plan this weekend getaway. We had a really fun time. We all arrived on Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. We stayed in the Drury Inn and Suites off 459 and 280. We spent Saturday at the Summit and just hanging out. It was so much fun! It was good just to catch up with them. Hope we can do it again.

We started out the weekend with dinner at P.F. Changs. It was so good. When we got finished our waitress surprised us with this complimentary dessert. She said we were a fun table, so she wanted to give us a treat. We were so excited and the cake was soooo good!!

Okay so on Saturday we wondered into Saks jean department and decided to try on some the jeans just for fun. It ended up being a three hour experience. These two sweet girls helped us. All we did was sit in the dressing room trying on jeans while they brought us more and more until we all found the perfect jeans. Before we knew it we had been in there forever. I usually hate jean shopping but this is definitely the way to go - let the experts find the jeans for you. They were so sweet and it was fun just trying on all the different kinds of jeans. This is at the end of the experience. We were definitely ready for lunch!

We enjoyed dinner at the Tavern on the Summit. Then when went by The Cheesecake Factory to get cheesecake to go. I bought the chocolate mouse and, oh wow, it was so good!!!!
