Mommy you made me sad

Well this past weekend I left Ford overnight for the first time. Some of my other momma friends took a weekend trip to the beach. I didn't get too upset when I left Ford and for the most part was okay while I was there as long as I kept myself busy. When I returned on Sunday Ford was asleep, so when he woke up Brad when in to get him and bring him to me. When he first saw me he smiled and leaned toward me, so I took him. Then he quickly looked up at me and gave me a 'I'm mad at you' face and then busted into tears as if to say 'you left me and that hurt my feelings'. Needless to say I busted into tears, too. He just laid his head down on me and cried and would look up at me every now and then to make sure I knew he was upset. So we set down and cried together. I'm not sure if I will leave him again for awhile. In addition to being upset, he got sick yesterday with a fever virus, so he is pitiful.
On a lighter note, he is now walking. Some of you would have said he was walking a couple of weeks ago, but I don't call it walking until he does it about 80% of the time. It is really cute to watch him walk. He just walks round and round in the house with a big smile or talking as if to say, "Hey, look at me. I can walk." He always has to have a toy in hand though as he walks. We still fall down alot, but he gets up and keeps trying.

Stellan

If you notice the picture to the left is not Ford. It is of little boy who is having from what I can understand heart problems. I just happened upon his momma's blog today and was moved to pray for him. I have no idea who he is, but I know he is a baby in need of a miracle and a momma in need of strength. To learn more about him you can click on the picture. Just pray for Stellan. I'm asking my God to be the God like he was in Daniel's time - the God who worked amazing wonders and signs to demonstrate HIS glory.

Just Fun...

Here is Ford playing with some of his new toys and sporting some new clothes from his birthday. And some pics from today, too. Today we spent most of the day outside playing. We spread out a blanket and brought out lots of toys. Brad was smoking some meat and so Ford and I stayed outside with him. The day was so beautiful and we all had so much fun playing outside in our own backyard with our sweet little boy. It is so nice to just have fun at home without having to get ready or out. We ended the day with some friends over for dinner and fun. What a wonderful laid back day. Thanks God for just plain simple goodness.Ford playing in his water table - Thanks Aunt Julie, Uncle Scott, Katie, and Luke

Ford just plain cute.

Ford Opens Presents...

I know it is now a week later, but I just have so many photos of Ford's Birthday. I can't believe a year ago he was 7lbs. and I was very sleep deprived. The thought of going outside seemed foreign and now going outside is a must everyday. I thought he did pretty well opening his presents, but he was very much in a daze from all the sugar of his smash cake.

Ford's Birthday Party

We had a wonderful party day, too. All of Ford's grandparent's were here including his great grandmother, too. My brother, Brad's sister and her family came along with lots of wonderful friends. It was so much fun!!! I was kind of sad when it was all over. Here are a few pics from the day.We were supposed to have the party in the backyard, but the weather did not permit that. It was yucky and gloomy outside, but inside it was bright and sunny. Thanks to all our family and my good friend, Cheree, the house looked wonderful and everything went so smoothly. Here are some pics of Ford playing...
Daddy and Ford make funny faces...
Singing Happy Birthday...
Ford digs in to his cake and I mean DIG. He ate just about all of it. I know I should have stopped him, but he was so cute and having so much fun.

Ford's Actual Birthday...

Ford's actual birthday was Friday. Brad took off the day for us to spend it all together. We had a very special time. First, we flooded Ford's room with balloons, his birthday hat, and birthday songs as soon as he woke up. At first he looked at us like we were crazy, but soon gave us his sweet smiles...
After breakfast, several little gifts, and a nap we headed off to the Natural Science Museum to look at the fish. Since Ford was now 20lbs. and a year old we were able to turn him around in his carseat. I think he liked it... what do you think?
After lunch at backyard burger, we headed home to sing Happy Birthday to him and give him his first cupcake. I wanted him to be able to smash into cake on his actual birthday, so Brad and I sang to him and let him dig in. He did complete inhale the entire cupcake...
After a good long nap, Ford woke up to a few more little happies from mommy and daddy along with 2 sets of grandparents to help him celebrate his special day.
I can hardly believe he his already 1. I was not as emotional as i thought I was going to be, but I did have to hold back tears a few times. I'm not sure what I'm feeling. I am enjoying this sweet stage and am so thankful for all that Ford has brought to our lives. I guess I'm just overwhelmed at how I feel. Ford is such a sweet easy going little guy. He has lots of different facial expressions, is babbling away, and on his birthday began putting lots of steps together - i guess you could say walking. He also pulled out all his tricks on that day of waving to everyone, clapping and shaking on command. He really loved having all his family around. I'll post more pictures of his party day later.

One of Ford's Tricks...

This one of Ford's new tricks. His Aunt Clara taught him the trick - Thanks Aunt Clara. You will also see his new face - the eyebrows down.
