Ford 1st taste of food...

Well, baby food that is. Ford's first food was squash. The doctor said he would probably just eat a half of a jar for now and gradually work his way up to two jars by nine months. Well, half a jar was not enough. He ate a whole jar plus cereal. Now he is up to a jar and a half most meals. Take a look at the pictures below to see if you think he liked it or not.

6 months old

Ford is 6 months old now. I can't believe it has been half a year already. My how time flies. Motherhood is going a lot better now. Around 5 months everything just started to click to me. Ford is a lot of fun and a great baby. He is so easy going. He smiles a lot and loves to give his momma 'oh wees' (our term for kisses). He loves to laugh at the funny things his daddy does, too. He is 17 pounds and 27 inches long now. He is working on sitting up and crawling. I think he would rather crawl than sit up, because he wants to go. He gets up on his knees and rocks back and forth. Our days consist of waking up and getting out in the morning. We come home around lunch to eat and play, then we snuggle up to watch Baby Einstein which is followed up with a nap (most days). After nap we play and wait for Daddy to come home. Ford loves his daddy and his daddy loves him. Once Brad gets home Ford is all his. They play, cook, and take a bath. Most everynight Brad puts Ford to bed, too. It is such a sweet time for them and a nice change for me. Life with Ford is fun!

Pump it Down

Ford and I went to Pump It Up on Thursday to meet some friends. He enjoyed watching all the big kids and practicing sitting up, but it wore him out. He fell asleep on me (see the above picture). I thought it was cute when he woke up, too (see the below pictures).

While washing dishes the other day, I turned around to see this sweet face starting at me.

I'm going on an airplane!!!
We went to Texas to visit Brad's brother and family. Ford did great on the airplane. He loved playing with his cousins. He sat up (sort of) by himself while we were there.

I found my thumb. Despite our efforts for Ford not to suck on his thumb, he was determined to find it.

Ford's Dedication

Ford was dedicated at our church on Thursday, August 14, 2008. It was a special time when Brad and I promised to do our best to raise Ford in a Godly home. We pray for Ford daily, but it was sweet to do it with our church family.

We are blessed to have some wonderful friends to raise Ford with. Notice Ford trying touch Ava. I think he thinks she is cute.

Thanks to my mom, stepdad, and little sister for coming to spend the evening with us. It was so nice to have them there with us.

Thanks to Ms. Cheree for coming, too. Cheree is one of our sweet friends and Ford's first babysitter. Ford loves her and she is so sweet to give Brad and I a night out by ourselves.
