A Christmas Tradition

In Brad's family they have this tradition they call 'hitting.' Between Thanksgiving and Christmas they suprise each other with gifts and holiday happies without the receiver knowing who gave it. They all do some of the most creative things such as putting up lights in someone's yard without them knowing or leaving goodies on a doorstep. This year as we were leaving at Thanksgiving I receive my second hit since being in the family. There was a bag on our car with this cute little spoon rest inside. I was so excited! I think it is so neat how they all do this to make the holidays so much fun and suprising.

Welcome New Babies

I have been meaning to blog about these two new special babies for awhile. These are two of my good friends who have had their sweet baby girls.

This first picture is my friend, Brooke, her husband, Josh, and their new little baby girl, Haidyn. She was born on November 11. This is my friend, Bree's, little baby girl - Kienzle. She was born on October 18 which was a suprise for mommy since that was 6 weeks early. Both mommy and baby are doing great now, though.

More Thanksgiving Memories

We also traveled to my Pappaw's house for Thanksgiving. We don't get to go out there often, so for me this was a treat and trip down memory lane. I also very rarely get to see my cousins that I grew up with because we all live all over the place. This was a special occasion because my cousin, Jordan, who lives in Ohio came to visit for the first time since my sister was born which was 9 years ago. This is a picture of all my cousins, our spouses, and our children. Not all of our cousins were able to be there, but I think this is the largest amount of us in awhile.

This is my cousin, Jordan, his wife, Jody, and their little boy, Logan. This was my first time to meet Jody and Logan. It was their first time to meet Brad, too. I really enjoyed getting to spend this time with the three of them.
This is a picture of Logan and myself. That is my Pappaw in the background. Logan was so sweet. We had fun playing together and he got me so excited about having a little boy.
We went for a walk in the woods. When you grow up in the country, playing in the woods is what you do. My mom grew up out here and they played in the woods all the time. When I was growing up, they would take all the grandkids for walks in the woods to run off our energy. I enjoyed the stories they always told us about things they used to do out there as kids the best, though.
Here is my sister in the woods. My sister is a monkey. No matter where we are she will find something to climb. Me I would rather stay on the ground, but not her.
This is my pappaw. When I was growing up, my pappaw always played his guitar when we came to visit. It is a memory I will never forget.
